Zelle® Is Phasing Out Its Standalone App
The Zelle® payment platform is undergoing significant changes very soon, including phasing out its standalone app after March 31, 2025. This means that starting on April 1, 2025, customers will only be able to send or receive money via Zelle® if they are sending from a financial institution that has integrated Zelle® into their digital banking platform.
How This May Affect Your PEFCU Account
Protecting your hard-earned money from fraud is our top priority, and at this time, Publix Federal Employees Credit Union is not integrating Zelle® into our user app to avoid any possible risks associated with the service. Rest assured, we will continue to support other third-party person-to-person payment transactions (e.g., Apple Cash, Google Pay, Venmo, Cash App, and PayPal), but most importantly, please know that we already offer our own person-to-person payment options through our digital banking platform that are safe, secure, and quick—at no additional cost.
We Have an Alternative for You: Move Money
Paying rent or monthly utility bills is easy, fast, and secure when you use our online and mobile banking Move Money features. The Pay a Person feature allows you to safely send money to people using their phone numbers or email addresses, while the External Transfer feature enables you to transfer money between your PEFCU accounts and your accounts at other financial institutions.
These are just a couple of the ways you can send money quickly and safely at no additional costs! Check out our Move Money web page for more details!
