Ensure your resume is top notch:
- Update your resume to include your most recent role
- Upload the most up-to-date and accurate resume to Indeed when applying through their site
- Tailor your resume to the position you’re applying for by highlighting skills that match the position
- Include the link to your LinkedIn profile, if you have an account
- Explain the impact of your job responsibilities (e.g., saved the company money, etc.)
- Avoid abbreviations
- Proofread and review the layout. Make sure it is easy to read, accurate, and free of typos.
- Ensure your contact information is up to date
- Use a professional email address that doesn’t give away personal information like your birthdate, etc.
- Save your resume with your name in the title
Prepare for the interview:
- Bring a pen and paper and fresh copies of your resume
- Review the job posting so you can quickly share what you bring to the table
- Prepare for scenario or behavior-based questions by thinking through previous roles and successes
- Be succinct but answer the questions fully
